He Heard A Titter
Adam looked at the key he was holding and thought about his dad. He hadn’t been well received by the public, who characterized him as strange and distant. Adam’s father was distant even though he was a kind man. He heard someone titter behind him. It might have been an animal, or it might have been something darker. For a moment, Adam considered escaping his assignment once more. He took a minute to stand motionless and consider his alternatives. Eventually, his curiosity got the better of him.

Examining The Floor
Adam started feverishly searching the trailer again, from top to bottom, hoping to find a secret safe or compartment, since a key was useless without a lock. He felt and tapped on various parts of the ceiling, walls, and flooring in an attempt to feel for a hollow “thud” or creak. He did not find anything. Having lost, he took a seat on the ground. From this floor-level vantage point, he became aware of a loose floorboard.
