Adam never thought he would find anything useful in the trailer, but when he noticed the key, his expectations started to rise. That he had found it among the debris astounds him. Could it result in a lock? To something of worth? He had concluded that the tales about his father having struck gold before he left were unfounded. However, maybe not.

Adam whispered to himself, “Rumors.” Though he couldn’t help but hold the tales he’d heard from circling around in his mind, he knew he couldn’t place much confidence in them. He was aware that there were rumors that his father was hiding secrets and had fled from something. Might they be mistaken? Adam was left wondering by all of this deceit. With anxiety in his heart, he glanced down at the key he was holding.
