An International Star
Cruise is unquestionably committed to his roles. Cruise studied Japanese for three months for his film “The Last Samurai,” in order to accurately deliver some of his lines in Japanese. He has visited Japan so frequently that the country has given him his own “Tom Cruise Day,” which is observed on October 10th.
Risky Business
In terms of dedication to his parts, Cruise reportedly refuses to sign on to a film unless the producers let him to perform his stunts. He dangled over the edge of a plane in flight and held his breath for nearly six minutes underwater in “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation,” While it is riskier for actors to perform stunts (as compared to a dedicated stuntman), he still performs his own stunts, including the upcoming “Mission Impossible 7.”
