A Big Apology
In the film adaption of “Interview with a Vampire.” Cruise played the vampire Lestat. Unfortunately, the author was not pleased with Cruise’s casting. After seeing the film, writer Anne Rice had to eat her words after publicly criticizing the actor who was cast in the part. She was so impressed with his performance that she purchased a two-page ad in “Daily Variety” to apologize to Cruise.

The Dark Side
Universal, like Marvel and DC, has been building its “The Dark Universe” mini-franchise, which will feature historical villains such as Frankenstein’s monster, the Wolf Man, Dracula, and The Invisible Man. When Cruise starred in “The Mummy.” in 2017, he became a member of the franchise as well.
