Let’s say we don’t remember the Duchess of York since we were too young when she appeared in public. The Duchess was compared to Princess Diana throughout their time period. According to the Duchess of York, she discussed the caliber of information available online. She sent the Hello magazine an open letter saying, “It seems that anything goes online.”

Pitting Women Against Each Other
Regarding the assertion made in the letter the Duchess of York wrote, “Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with [one another] in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt.” The letter says: “People feel licensed to say things online that they would never dream of saying to someone’s face. And that encourages others to pile in.”
