The Limit
Nadya brought up the topic because she desperately wanted children and believed that other techniques should be attempted because the traditional method had failed, but Marcos was fiercely opposed. Their opposing viewpoints caused a schism in their relationship, but her offer of IVF pushed him over the edge (in vitro fertilization). An egg cell is fertilized outside of the body and subsequently implanted into a woman’s uterus in this medical procedure. Marcos specifically warned Nadya that if she went ahead with the treatment, he would abandon her.
A Difficult Choice
Nadya now had to pick between her love for Marcos and the potential of having children, or her biggest ambition of becoming a mother while losing her spouse. Finally, Nadya decided to pursue her long-held ambition and took a major risk. Despite how painful it was for her, Nadya divorced in the year 2000. Now that her ex-husband was no longer in the picture, Nadya decided to attempt IVF to create the family she had always wanted, but things didn’t go as planned…
