On the ship, there are persistent rumors that two persons are creeping around. Nobody is sure if that’s true, but if it is, they will be found out and punished. Until either Greg or Violet starts to experience weird occurrences, neither of them really gives these rumors any thought. They discover that they are not alone.

Violet has had nighttime insomnia. Around ten o’clock, all the lights go off, and after that, things normally get very quiet. But during the past two days, she has been startled by weird noises many times. She misidentified the sound as someone working late at night when she heard metal clattering on metal.
