The most well-known Friends character outside the main six is probably James Michael Tyler’s coffee-serving, Rachel-obsessed Gunter, another great talent who went away in 2022. Gunther really made an appearance in 56 episodes, which is more than any other character who wasn’t called Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, or Joey. What further information do we have about Gunther? He played Bryce on All My Children and missed smoking. He was also partially to blame for the infamous split between Ross and Rachel.

1. Janice Litman-Goralnik Hosenstein (Maggie Wheeler)
Janice (Maggie Wheeler) is one of the all-time great supporting actors, and she belongs in the Hall of Fame. Janice was renowned for having enormous hair, a nasal voice, and, of course, possibly the most annoying laugh in the annals of situation comedies as Chandler’s past girlfriend, a few times removed. But despite the fact that Janice quickly irritated us, she was in charge of some of the show’s funniest scenes (“15 Yemen Road, Yemen”). Apart from the six main characters, Janice played a significant role in the success of Friends. And we ought to be appreciative.
