Kolmanskop, a desert mining town in Namibia, has been completely overrun by sand. It was formerly a prosperous town created in German architectural style with resources taken from the diamond mines. However, following the first World War, it lost it’s spark and was eventually abandoned in 1954. Since then, the village has steadily being reclaimed by the desert. It really is a cool sight to see, nonetheless.

Mother Shipton, an enigmatic character born in 1488, is credited with foretelling the development of metal ships, the Great Fire of London in 1666, the downfall of the Spanish Armada, and the destiny of numerous kings both during and after their lifetimes.
