The Office
After clearing the area of cobwebs and dust, the two intrepid travelers entered the secret chamber. They discovered a little, improvised office filled with records, pictures, maps, and other materials within. Adam discovered while sorting through the mess that many of the messages were written in code, suggesting that his father was probably up to no good. Below the desk, Adam discovered a secret chest. Fortunately, the trunk opened, and Adam discovered a bundle of paperwork and pictures taped together inside.

When Adam understood that references to prominent figures from his hometown were included in this stack, his breath seized in his chest. And not just any references: proof of these so-called leaders’ deceit, theft, and corruption. Adam also discovered proof that his father’s disappearance had been covered up by these officials. Upon closer inspection, the office revealed that his father had been an activist looking into the corrupt authorities in the community. Upon witnessing everything, Adam was aware of his obligation.
